Vision testing: a successful milestone

Progress on the first part of autonomous divot repair: recognising where attention is needed.

Early Divotron prototype on a golf-course teeing area

Finding the divot comes first

Our vision work has reached a successful proof-of-concept milestone. It is progress on a specific problem: helping Divotron recognise fairway divots within the surrounding turf.

The small prototype pictured here is part of that early work. It provides a practical platform for bringing perception and robotics together, with the course as the setting.

A foundation for targeted repair

Vision is one part of the larger system. The next version of Divotron builds on this groundwork around a simple purpose: find fairway divots and fill them. Course professionals set the priorities; our job is to make the robot useful within that work.
